As some of you know, our esteemed colleague simpo two was recently the photographer at my brother-in-laws wedding.

I think it became a bit more involved than he initially thought but the end results speak for themselves and the bride and groom will be as chuffed as monkeys when they see them I'm sure.

A few can be seen here;

Good shots. Stressful events weddings. Very involved, I had to do my brother-in-laws in Feb. Pics here

Bee-Jay and I will be doing one in the future. Formals and reportage style prob. Stressful but good fun and well worth it when the bride and groom see the results.

Thanks Ross , that's very kind. I was about halfway to the venue when I started to think 'What have I let myself in for?'

But they made me very welcome, insisted on treating me as a guest and all was well. I was breaking in a new rotating flash bracket and big Sigma lens, but only got about 3 real duds from over 400 shots. Perhaps I should have directed the formal scenes more forcefully but it didn't seem appropriate somehow.

I would also add: 'Thank god for PhotoShop'

I've only ever done one wedding, and it turned out better than I could ever have hoped, but I'd never do one again. I've never been so stressed in my life!

Credit where it's due...well done, John.

Martin.

I think the key to good wedding photos is catching the spirit of the day. You see so many where you could substitute the people in the picture and it could be any wedding in any town on any day.

I think these are great - they look so happy, and unlike a lot of wedding albums, the bride and groom actually look like they love each other and are pleased to have their friends around them.

The photo we all ordered after my sister's wedding was one they didn't even know had been taken. They stopped on the way to the reception to have a bit of a breather and walk round the pond in the village to calm down a bit. We'd put a bottle of champagne in the car and they opened it and sat on the grass to drink it. The photographer drove by and caught the moment, with a big patch of daffs in flower behind them. BRILLIANT!

Well done John. Some lovely work there. I think wedding photography is a difficult skill as you're a bit nervous, the wedding party is nervous about different things. Capturing those moments when folk are relaxed and happy and actually enjoying themselves is very difficult. Much kudos to you for doing it.
