Just done 1500 miles in Chimaera up west coast. Fort William to Durness. Fabulous roads and once past F.W. no cameras. Just watch out for the sheep.
Some of the finest driver's roads in the country up there. I WILL return next year and enjoy a serious hoon.
There isn't much better than roof down in the Highlands....except roof down in NZ's South Island...and that's a *long* way to go!
Great fun aren't they! You need to watch out for deer & highland cattle too...Did you continue round the top part Thurso, or come back down the same road?
Another good road is to turn right at Laxford Bridge (East) & drive through the mountains/lochs of the Duke of Westminster's estate towards Lairg. Spectacular! Again watch out for the deer, as there are loads.
