Picture hosting?
Discussion
Can anyone help me with picture hosting.
I use fotango and its a job to get them from the camera on to the forum, then when I do they are tiny!!
How do some folk post large size pictures up.
Do you know of any programes that resize a set of pics at once so I don't have to resize them all individually in photoshop.
Any help greatfully recieved.
Thanks. Greg

Greg, try www.webshots.com
OK, the client is a bit of a "I'll take your PC over" if you let it (changes wallpaper and screensaver), but it allows you to upload FULL SIZE IMAGES into your albums.
If you check the Minihoon picture thread you'll see my gallery - I shot all of my pics at 6MP so each pic was well over a meg, even after tidying up.
Fotango is easy, but the picture size is a joke, frankly.
HTH,
Greg

There are quite a few - Photobucket, Webshots (wouldn't recommend if you want to link though) and smugmug - plenty of people will gve you a steer...
Photoshop!
I think you need to record an action? (Not something I have got to grips with yet) But you have the right program!

A few folks are using mine:
www.hankscorpio.com/publicgallery/
it'll resize to 750 wide in the PH one or 600 in the general one.
Doesn't retain originals, only the resized.
Help yourself....

Or - for quick and easy - Microsoft Image Resizer from Microsoft 'power tools'

Guess its mini shots for me then.
No need Greg...just try www.photobucket.com
They automatically resize but it takes longer to download. Files 750px wide only take a few seconds usually, and you get full screen shots. Full size files take a couple of minutes to upload for the same result. So you might as well (in PS 7) go Image>Image Size>type in 750 in the relevent box>OK>Save As. Easy and saves time.
Martin.

You can upload the pic full size if you want. It can take a little time though.
Best resize in Photoshop before uploading.
You can upload multiple pics and its just a case of copy & paste to link the pic to PH.
It is easy to use too. (must be, I use it)

Bit late to the party, but I use www.fotopic.net and can recommend them. Free 250MB storage, any size image, no problems linking.
www.irfanview.com is an excellent free program for resizing and doing simple manipulations (colour, contrast, cropping etc)

A much nicer resizer with better options and still free is here: www.faststone.org/FSResizerDetail.htm
Also, for hosting I use PBase, cheap and worth a look - allows direct linking and pictures can be as big as you want...
