Hey, dunno if this is the right place to put this, but seems as better a place to put it than anywhere else.

I lost my mother about 7 months ago now, so I'm wanting to treat my dad to something bigger than usual for this Christmas, so was thinking about getting us tickets for the F1 next year at Silverstone as it's the only sport he's actually ever seemed to be interested in, but never actually been to see and probably would never take the chance to see.

Just wondering if anyone on here had any advice or experience about what's the best levels of tickets to go for or what stands are preferable to actually see anything decent? Will probably look to go down on the Saturday for qualifying, so will look like I'll have to get a 3 day tickets mostly.

Thanks for any help.

For a special treat look at Club Silverstone hospitality, usually at the Beckett’s complex, also for accommodation look if they still have the accommodation pods on site.
Full three days at the Grand Prix.

Could you possibly mention this two my two sons and remind them of my upcoming ‘BIG birthday’ please.

Me and the Mrs went for the first time last year. We camped and had general admission tickets so no stand access.

On the Friday you can free roam in most of the stands but it’s allocated seating only Saturday and Sunday.

We parked up on the bank at Stowe for quali and the race and got a good view. If you want a stand ticket Becketts, Stowe, vale, luffield and copse are all good spots to park up.

If you are general or in a non covered stand an umbrella is a must. For shelter from the rain or from the belting sun (2018 was mental hot we bought an extortionate merchandise umbrella to tie to our chairs to keep the sun off us it was unbearable).

Take plenty of refreshments on race day especially as getting food and drink can be a pain (vans were running out of drinks and the queues for the drinking water points were crazy but it was unusually hot)

If you want a weekend ticket he pitlane pass is worth it as a one off. We got given some by guys who’d done it before and it was great to get close to the teams, drivers and cars.

We can’t afford to go this year (last year the weekend was bought as a gift for us both) but it was probably one of the most enjoyable weekends I’ve ever had

Take a very big banner saying “Farewell Siverstone - we will all miss you”
