I have just 'acquired' a Wacom Graphire 3 tablet.

I have been playing with pen pressure in Photoshop and it is pretty cool.

Does anyone here use one, and if so, what do you find it most useful for?

Yep, use a Wacom Volito. I find it very good for the freehand selection tool, but on the downside sometimes using it as a mouse is a bit less flexible than my old mouse.

Overall thumbs up though.

Yep, I've used a Wacom tablet for 5 years and find a mouse very slow and un-natural now. I set the screen area on the tablet quite small so that I don't need to move my entire hand to click in each corner. Lose a bit on accuracy but its still way better than mouns.

Plus I've never had any issue with RSI despite being spending most of my days on PCs.

highly recommended.

I have an Intuos 2 here. Tend to use the pen for Photoshop and Civ, mouse for other applications. I usually turn the pressure sensitivity off as I'm quite clumsy though ! I do agree that using the pen helps avoid any RSI problems.
