hi all i got my roof catches from rs components and are 1/2 the price of the leven ones and look like the same thing i cant remember the part number as i ordered them about a year ago but if i get a chance i will see if it is still attached to the bag as they are awaiting fitting(once the rest of the car is sorted.
They had about three types which would do but i ordered the item which looks the same
ps the original roof catches are also avalible from rs

I changed mine to the metal ones but found even though fully adjusted they didnt pull my roof in as tight as the plastic ones and hence my roof leaked with these on which it didnt with the plastic ones.
Could be something to do with my roof but its worth bearing in mind.

Hmm, well I've had a poke around on RS's website and it's not all that helpful, so if you could come up with that part number it'd be much apprecated as I need a pair now & my pockets aren't deep enough for Leven at the moment..

edit: aha.. Part-no 245-5547 looks like the original part..

The original plastic roof clips are by Southco, part number E8-10-502-20

RS ones are the same as the Southco ones, and a fair bit cheaper...

Nor could I, but I reckon as cheap as those plastic clips are and bearing in mind the 'ill fitting' comment about Leven's metal clips, I'm gonna go for some placky ones..

Trevor are you still about as your email isn't working. Anyone else had experience of the southco/rs stainless catches?

Phil

I have 4 of the clips you require, if they are the same as the 'S'.

As a company we have numerous dealings with Southco and they supply many locks and latches to us.

I blagged a couple of sets from their salesman a couple of months back. I you want a set let me know.

Dave

Edited to add - these are the black plastic ones.

Peter
If you mean the stainless latch does it fit as £7 a piece certainly beats the Leven ones @£41 - which also look rather similar

Dave - sorry about the dates confusion just that I did a search and this orignal post caught my eye!

No Worries sif...

The RS ones are the same black plastic as the original...

It is only Leven who make the metal ones...

Oops,

The Parts I listed above are the standard PLASTIC clips, as fitted to my S2. Sorry about the confusion.
