Top marks for the guys at peninsula for keeping my car in working order. Got back last night from the 2 week France - Le-Mans Holiday and, dispite the 400SE using about 4 litres of oil, she never complained, never spluttered all the time we were in france. The first week was great, then the race started, and it rained ..... the wedge started fine no problems, only allowing a small amount of water into the drivers footwell on sunday morning. By Lunchtime we had packed up and headed south in search of warmer weather, and again the wedge managed to cover the next 600 miles or so without any problems.. at times it even held the Magic 150mph for upto 20 minutes (now I know why my oil consumption was excessive!)a time. The second week saw regular blasts in excess of 140mph almost everyday down a fresh strech of tarmac en route to the Hyper marche. The Weather was mid to late 30''s and again it didnt stop. The fans kicked in at the level marked on the gauge ... and held it there. One morning, we were held up in a 4 hour traffic jam in which time I managed to move just almost 1 mile.. with a parasol over the car, and the electric coolbox on full, again the car didnt let us down. After playing with a 911 on the way back (again at almost 150mph) the car just went on and on.... we stopped for fuel, and it returned an average of 5km/lr on every tankfull (48 Litres). To sumarise though, the car spotlight lens was smashed by a stone chip, and I think I have a rear wheel bearing going (but its not had any replaced, or UJ''s since I have owned the car (5years)) so all in all.. its done quite good. Now off to Peninsula on Saturday to be serviced. Jason

Good to hear a contented owner and I suspect that there a lot more of us around than the more vocal unhappy minority. Just goes to show that TVRs can be reliable although you might have made a few of the Tuscan and Cerbie owners a bit jealous! Not only that but wedges are of course much more exclusive these days!

Great to hear it all went so smoothly for ya Jase. I hope to see a few wedge owners for a pootle up the runway at Duxford. Is a second 'Noise challenge' out of the question ?? Patrick. Edited by patrick on Friday 29th June 10:14
