If anyone's having Canon image problems see here|http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controller?act=PgComSmModDisplayAct&keycode=2112&fcategoryid=215&modelid=10598

on two counts...

1) I have that combination of camera and card - and have experienced pictures going missing. And I have a job tomorrow, and the day after etc...

2) Maybe it wasn't Rico's fault after all that my pics went missing. I had better hope he doesn't read this thread

I'd forgotten your earlier issue. But maybe there is an explanation here?

"Forewarned is forearmed"...

...or is it supposed to be "four-armed"...

You had the surgery yet...(you've seen the current Manfrotto ads, I assume)...to have the extra leg fitted so you don't need to take the tripod to NZ???

You doctor can give you some Niagra for that lack of firmware.

I'm using the affected products and I can't say that i've noticed any pictures going missing

i'm not risking it. i was lucky enough that it didn't happen to me at an important time, so I'm not going to push it any more. It's annoying having to use slow cards but not as annoying as being killed for losing important photos!

Hi guys,

It looks like Canon has issues some fixes.

Thought this might be of interest...

I read about missing images a while back, but they only seemed to happen with Lexar cards, so I bought Sandisk and haven't had a single problem.

The Extreme III cards are quicker, and rated down to lower temps than the Lexar ones too, so you win on all counts.
