Ah - if the pix didn't show I can understand!
Heh - now if I had a crazed drummer in shot as well...
Music is a big theme; I'm glad I'm not judging it! I wonder if we need colour and monochrome categories, as they are so different?

I like the first one a lot, might come in handy for the music theme this month !

guys,
yes it is a big subject but its more of an image that describes music if you get my drift. industry was a big area too as can be seen in the variety of images put forward.
i tried to pick a subject that all would have easy access to and allow a wide range of viewpoints and interpretations, seascapes for example would be an issue to someone like me in the middle of the country. Everyone has access to music in some form so it seemed to provide a good subject matter for just about everyone.

Absolutely Lotusfan, I think music is an excellent theme choice. My point was that colour and monochrome are so different; a photo that looks great in colour is spoilt in b/w and vice versa. Colour photos have colour to help them work, whilst b/w has to rely solely on composition and texture. Colour gives an instant visual hit, whilst b/w has to be pondered and savoured.
Anyway, ramblings aside, I feel that you might get several entries which you score equally as winners, so breaking them into two categories would save you having to compare apples with oranges.

simpo,
yes i see your point and will bear it mind as the entries come in, however is it not the "artists" decision as to the format of the image and therefore they decide if it looks better in colour then mono? thereby including some element of creative aptitude possibly into the comp?
