I actually saw one of these ''hot'' Saxos last night on the way home. (Not that one, of course) It had twin sports exhausts and made an astonishing amount of noise. It was entirely ordinary to look at though. What ran through my mind was ''why?'' as I pushed the right pedal down in the Chim....heh heh. Puerile I know. Edited by Don on Thursday 5th July 08:42

It is a bit disappointing when you see things like this.. £20,000 reworking the body and they just left the engine alone. Come on, for that much money I'd expect someone to at least TRY and wedge a V8 in there somewhere. Perhaps take out that overly huge amount of ICE and mount one in the boot, I dunno.

so, a bodykit..: more drag & more weight. and lots of ice: even more weight. same engine.. Hmmnn... looks like they've spenk 20k making the car slower. Could have bought a proper sports car for that sort of money.

What's the point of putting in loads of ICE? surely it will melt? Is it a new form of Ice cream van? I'd rather have a Bedford CF one taverymuch

I spose this was bound to happen, the next generation of petrol heads must be finding it hard to find an unmolested 1.2 Nova to stick a 4" back box and Fido-Dido transfers on. They need a new toy, and hey, it's allready "Trev'd" up for them. I like Don's comment - "Why?!"

I like modified cars, my mini with wider wheels and a metro turbo engine used to be great fun, I still have fun with modified minis but must say that I have to laugh at the saxo/corsa crew. They all look the same, I though modifying was supposed to make the car look different? You can’t beat a proper sports car but they couldn’t insure or drive it anyway. Max Power used to be a good mag, it started out with proper modified cars like V8 mk1 escorts, cars that were put together properly by the owners, now its full of jap cars built as demos for big companies. They seem to have taken the fun out of it. Got back from Corfu yesterday, got the S2 out for a blast after having a moped/twingo for a week.

The main point here is that these lads have not realised that the Saxo is a BIRDS CAR..!

My wife has a VTR (no bolt on bits/transfers etc) and its ideal for her (and she drives it WELL (aka better driver than me)). The Saxo was the replacement for the AX which was classically a Birds car too.. (my wife had one before the VTR) so we have a sexuality issue going on..

Perhaps these lads are trying to disguise the fact there driving a womans car by making it look a bit different..

Cheers
Matt.

actually the biggest problem with MP is that it is only a thinly disguised T&A mag, so that the boys can ask mommy to buy it for them. Keep cars mags for cars, and leave nekkid ladies for the top shelf mags - atleast that way you'd get what you paid for. Rather than a car mag with some topless shots and some "err, interesting" cars, you'd get totally nude birds, and decent motors, in 2 differnt magazines. Better solution all round?

I'd like to know why all the girlie mags are put on the top shelf anyway. Why don't they put them on the middle shelf with all the other D.I.Y. magazines?

(Ok, ok, its an old Jasper Carrott joke)
