It is Phil Bennett. Absolute top bloke and poster here. One of the fastest in LM2 in his Kruse Courage Judd car 30.

No door handles on the prototype, so not sure what is going to rub when barges past everyone

He`ll be getting support from our crew - he was very quick at Sebring.

He got the car into the lead of LMP2, and Tim Mullen was excellent. The third driver was (more than a little bit) slower and did like the sound of gravel on the underside of the car......

Car kept breaking, but made it to 4th in class at the end.

Phil will be back and is a real contender for outright honours.

I'll see if I can get him to post an account of the race up here.

Would be good to read it from the drivers point of view. Please do get him to post.

BTW: Phat Gixer, Did I see you leaving the nice new clean supermarket south of Mulsanne on Friday lunchtime (ish)? If not then there is another Brit SL65AMG in red!

Me too, saw it in Arnage village in the main car park around 1am on Saturday/Sunday Morning. Recognised it straight away!

I saw a red SL65 pull away from Houx roundabout 'fairly' rapidly - with some Le Flik bikes seemingly in hot persuit! Did you get a tug?

Twas I! On Friday a buddy of mine was driving it as I had too much sherbert and sun and stayed at the Gite nursing a bad head.

Who was shouting at me in Arnage on Sunday Night whilst I was driving the red Panzer wearing my German Helmet? I think it was a PHer.... I was trying to find a restuarant with Phil Bennett (driving that dragster like RS6) and he was making me drive like a to$$pot...

A couple of piccies of the Kruse car. Not sure if it's Phil driving; what colour's his lid?

Same colours as Johnny Herbert... Union Jack and all. Phil assures me his lid design pre-dates the Essex Limper, but I'm not sure he knows what day of the week it is....

In the top picture, Ian Mitchell is driving. You can tell as it is clearly in focus as it is moving slowly. The second. Give me a break! It is probably Tim as he is very diddy.

I'll be off.

Bennett! Write something you misery!

You can finally read my ramblings here...

www.philbennett.com/home/default.asp

Its not so much a race report as the things that I did during my time there.

That and laugh at Angus "oooo my head hurts better have a lie down" Dawe's poor drinking efforts. I've always suspected he was a homo.

My helmet is union jack on top with red band around the centre - something I've had since begining of 1999 and pre-Herberts re-design, whose helmet looks feck all like mine anyway!!!

Well done Phil!

EricTheBrave (Steve from Moving Parts) and myself were supposed to come and see you in the pits on Friday, but ended up spending a little longer than planned in Arnage "having lunch"
So, sorry we missed you.

Are you doing the 1000K at Silverstome in August?

BTW Have a great pic of you following Peter Kox thru the Porsche curves early in the race......also have one of you as the "meat" in a #34 and Aston sandwich!

I'll post them Friday once I finally get home and have access from my laptop to the internet.
