Hi
Unlike most of your guys, I use a Sigma DSLR. Which limits me to basically Sigma Lenses only. Thus far I have spent a lot on lenses, but I now need something that gets me over 70mm.
I am really tempted by this
http://www.sigma-imaging-uk.com/lenses/telezoom/120-300mm.htm
but at £2k I may not get the use out of it to justify the expense.
Maybe this plus a 1.4 convertor will be good http://www.sigma-imaging-uk.com/lenses/telezoom/120-300mm.htm
Or this

The 120-300 is probably to heavy to use generally. What do you guys think???
Its a shame you can't try before you but. Most of my photography is motorracing, but I intend on travelling around Australia for 6 months and would like to do some wildlife shots...

I've got the 120-300mm F2.8 Canon version. Optically it's a great lens and with my 2X teleconverter it's 780MM on my 1DmkII! F2.8 really makes a massive difference in low light. Controlling the DOF can be a game though.
As a walk-about lens? Hhhmmm it's on the edge of being too heavy (2.6KG's). I've used it for a few hours hand held before and at the time it was fine. Boy, did my arms ache the next day though!
I bring it into the city (London) every so often, so you're welcome to have a look at it one lunch time, or at any of the www.phea.co.uk do's in East Anglia.

In that case try www.bhphotovideo.com too...if you're going to be anywhere near NYC.
These guys are very highly recommended on most of the major photography sites.
