How many of you leave straight for home after the race?

We went down on Friday and came back on the 2.15 ferry yesterday.

We went to the main square on Friday night which was mad and absolutely packed but on the Sunday night the place was really quiet with only a few groups of people and the odd couple of cars driving through.

I would have thought a few more people would stay Sunday night to have a few more beers after the race.

We leave before the end of the race to be honest - along with a fair number of others. Both years we have had a nice hotel sorted at a halfway point which makes for at least 1 relaxing night before going back to work.

I think the stories of pikey thefts and carnage at the campsites puts quite a few people off - lots of people are back in work on monday as well.

Yeah its a bit crap, most people flee before the end of the race. Its no fun staying on at the campsite as so many people leave and the pikeys gypsys move in to steal anything not bolted down. Those that stay often book into a hotel.

Its a shame as its a massive anticlimax for it to empty out so quickly, and for people to not watch the end of the sodding race. Then again there are plenty who just go there for a beer sodden weekend and don't give a toss about the race.

To be honest, Dan, its the Saturday night/Sunday morning racing that really interests me - the track clears, the cars look awesome, drivers start to get tired, strategies come into play and there are only the more dedicated spectators left (once the bars close). Very nice to watch if you find a good spot and go prepared.

I didnt see any either although heard about a couple of car thefts in MB ( due to keys being left in tents apparently).

I had one of the best nights on Sunday in the bar in parking Bleu.

Got the clutch sorted yet Corin?

I did that my first year by accident. We had that printed on the t-shirts and even got a spotted letter in Evo

Have to say I prefer the racing and chilling out with champagne in the ACO area to sitting in a dusty field drinking beer in the midday sun!

Yeah thats the type of thing I was referring to. First year I went (03) there were loads of them. On the plus side we saw them pick up some bin bags to go through with some seriously unpleasant contents (hence the 15 layers of wrapping!).

That was at Houx Annexe which did seem fairly pikey.

We left am empty field on Monday at 11am with perhaps 10 people in sight. Many people did rush off on Sunday but we took it easy. There were lots of people on the roads heading back with us and a whole ferry of sports cars (and a Micra!) at 9pm from Boulogne!

We didn't leave Houx Annexe until about 11am on Monday. Countered the theft potential by staying up until about 4am drinking, singing (badly) and letting off fireworks. Seemed to keep the pikeys away!

We left Monday. By 5pm Sunday the whole place is in shutdown

Mind you there was a girl and a bloke in their twenties totally naked messing around with a hosepipe pipe in Maison Blanche on Sunday Evening!!

We stayed in Technopark and it was quite good - saw the end of the race and then drank warm beer in the campsite in the evening. A couple of vans came round, but they didn't seem to be taking anything that people hadn't abandoned - they asked if they could take our BBQ.

There was about 40% of the PCGB area left by Sunday night so plenty of company still.

Me and my mate went for a walk down the track from the Porsche Curves down towards Arnage, there was a DB9 racing a Morgan down that stretch, the Morgan seemed to be on flying laps as he was round every few minutes. Also a Scoob was doing some pretty good donuts, anyone here?
