The merit of taking a tow rope with you, an RX7 and a numptie may be close at hand!!

We were stood the other side of the track and watched as the bloke rolled the thing in what can only be described as slow motion into the kitty litter.

“Is he?

“He is!”

“What a berk”

“He’s actually going to try and drive out!!!”

“You muppet”

In slow motion the rear wheels literally made half a turn as the thing buried itself up to its rear axle

Anyway there was a bit of discussion before I decided to go and lend them a hand and break out the tow rope. You probably wouldn’t believe it but his mate said words to the effect of

“Very nice but we’ll need a car to put with it”

He was from Manchester but to the best of my recollection there were fg hundreds of the things lying about close at hand

“So you don’t want it then? you could try pulling it yourself mate”

“Oh yes”

“Where do we attach it?”

At this point I was ready to put it back in boot but thanks to the Scottish chap in the Bentley 4 ¼ another rope and eight blokes the thing was quickly extracted and give the driver his due he laughed it off with much gusto and was damn grateful if a little red faced

In terms of muppetry undoubtedly the highlight of the weekend

No Dan he decided it was a good place to park. I repeat and I shit you not, a good place to park! Yes really!

Have you ever heard of anything quite like that before, a gravel trap designed for catching cars doing 200 mph, I know I’ll reverse my Mazda into it won’t be a problem.

Numptyism has officially reached new heights

The bloke at Arnage corner on Friday was old enough to know better as well. Didn't he have a blonde woman with him?

I did have a wry smile when I saw frantic scraping in front of the rear wheels by hand.
