Glad to see the Pistonhead crew are still OK after their near death experience when the wheel came over the barrier on the main straight. We did shout watch out at you. Hope it helped. Rev-erend (Griff 500)

I couldn't believe that everybody just stood there we were all under the pit wall for cover at least no one got hurt! I think FF's are going to teach their driver what a saftey car board means!

In the spirit of good journalism we stood ground to get the real story. Er..in reality we were watching the "wheel less" car career along the pit wall and whilst I was shouting it was that car, rather than the wheel, that got the attention...as the errant wheel cruised towards us.

Re; FF wheel. As a marshal I've found that it is best to stand your ground until the last second, whether it is a wheel or a car coming at you, It is amazing how many people run the wrong way when something leaves the track or car, these things change direction quite a few times before they actually land! And you do look a twat if you run into the path of said object! So I think they did right staying put! Oh, and by the way, not all marshals are sad anoraks as my brother thinks, there are some of us who have realised that wearing an unflattering (no matter how thin you are they look awful!) pair of orange overalls is a small price to pay for ringside seats and no entry fee! Stig, Thanks for that comment, nice to know we are appreciated! Aren't you lot at oulton sometime soon? I'll keep an eye out for you! And as for being interested in motor sport - I can't remember being any other way, I love cars, the lower, louder and faster the better!
