Will we even get it? RHD and brexit uncertainty, I doubt they are in a rush to release here.

Of course we'll get it. Brexit won't mean no one drives a car.

Japan and Australia are RHD too, it's not just us with the steering wheel on the correct side.

It's their first model, they need to ramp up production, most of their market is LHD and they probably wouldn't sell very many pickup trucks in the UK. No dealers here, no servicing, all needs to be set up from scratch. Thanks to brexit it will be a different regulatory environment, high costs involved to move parts over the border, staff can't just come over and work from other EU countries...

I doubt it will come to the UK aside from grey imports.

I disagree. They have an R&D facility over here, so fingers crossed they see us as a decent market

Not something I can every see myself owning but very cool all the same.

I do still struggle with that front end though. Looks like a cartoon car from a show on Nick Jr?

I was going to say isn't it a bit wide for UK roads,... then I realised it's only 3-4 cm wider than a Range Rover or a Model-X.

Rivian or Cybertruck. I take the one that gets to the UK first.

If you watch the Carfection video on YouTube the British engineer that they interview states they have definite plans to bring both the pickup and suv to the UK and EU.

I like it a lot!!! And interestingly its smaller than you think:

Ok, so its still big for some markets, but thats an F-150 behind it, so actually smaller than the most popular pickup in the US. I think it is perfect and might consider it in a couple of years!

The F150 is huge though. Here we have one in a standard UK parking space. smile

The Rivian definitely going to be too big for practical use in the UK.

Yeah, that does look a touch too wide....

Just checking the specs though - The standard F-150 is 79 inches wide and the Rivian will be virtually identical to that. As a comparison, the Ford Ranger is 78 inches - so pretty marginal differences. However, that photo is the Raptor and thats just over 86 inches - which, and I didnt know this until recently, is the limit according to federal requirements that you have to have supplementary lights on the front to indicate a wide vehicle - hence the little orange lights on the front grill!

Technically over 86 inches is classified as wide in the US and due to the wheel arches, it trips it over. The reason for doing this? Its then absolutely classified as a commercial vehicle and exempt from emissions regulations... Yeah, I know that I am splitting hairs here, but hey, 7" is a lot to some....

As a comparison though, a Sprinter is 79.5" and an S-class is just over 75"....

Looks like Rivian for you, Tesla truck isn’t coming to the U.K. US market only.

Theres more chance of getting a rivian in UK than the cybertruck as is, expect they'll build a smaller 5 seater hilux/f150 size pickup for Europe eventually.

Jesus wept! The bonnet is the same hight as that Fiesta's roof! I can understand owning one if you are a Texas cattle rancher, but why would you want one of those in the UK, other than as a penis extension?
