Hi,

I am trying to get some decent snaps when I am out and about. I took this picture this morning whilst out walking with my wife (I know, I had a hangover to get rid of!). Anyway, is it a good picture?, I like it but what about from a technical point of view?

Cheers

John

I do like the "layered" effect with progressively "foggy" lines of scenery... But technically, the sky is overexposed and a bit uninteresting and the photo for me lacks a clear focal point. Might have been improved by a double exposure (and later combination in PS) to regain some detail in the sky, or if the sky was milky white, put less of it in the picture. I'd have zoomed in more on the little building as well, maybe that would have cured the "point of interest" issue. Maybe a bit of cropping? Finally, due to the light the colors look a bit washed out but then again that has a certain charm and could serve to underline the atmosphere you were trying to catch. If not, it should be easily cured in PS as well.

Just my .02€ of course...

Thanks for that I think that I need to spend a little time looking at PS and seeing if I can work it!

Cheers
