tips on putting the foam back in dash photo included

Best way to fix the foam sticking out? on the left hand side of blu tac. it's causing a rattle i think.

when i put weather stripping in the gap and middle of dashboard it stops. i put the foam back in it just pops out it must like the sun.
and there is quite a big gap on the left hand side past the foam i can see the bonnet paint. obviously a manufacturing defect or something else?
