Sigma 80-400, anyone got one ?

Hi guys,

Has anyone got any experience of this lense ?

Seems to have some good reviews and a good price as well, just wondered if any of you lot went for it as an alternative to say the Canon 100-400L IS ??

No, but if it is as good as the Nikon 80-400 I have then it will be a beast.

I tried the Sigma lens before buying the 100-400 IS Canon lens. Couple of reasons why I chose the Canon. Firstly its much easier to use, i.e. zooming etc and secondly its L glass so in theory it should give better image quality. I also found that I preferred the Stabiliser on the Canon lens.

The Sigma is a great lens, for £800 odd its very good but then again I got my Canon lens secondhand in mint condition for £825. No brainer really....
