Picture this Saturday morning 9.30a.... driving from Falmouth to Penzance via Helston on the A394 the sun is out and all is lovely...
What do I encounter in a layby...a bloody Scamera van doubtless the man was on overtime ...beware they are even in Cornwall. There is no escape from moronic tax scameras even in darkest cornwall!!!!

If i spot them in time I drive past as slowly as it is safe to do so - that way if they're doing a speed survey it gives them evidence that they aren't needed!
If you think that doesn't work, they stopped building a speed camera on West Road in Newcastle because they found that not enough people were speeding past it
This is probably because they had the van just over the crest of a hill, so the people who would speed down the hill slowed for the van, went over the top of the hill then got back up to speed! Bit harsh on the people coming the other way - over the top of the hill into a 30 limit with a scam sitting waiting for them. Barstewards!

These days I tend to either avoid roads that are scamera targetted or drive within the speed limit for that particular road. I also tend to only drive progressively on those roads where I know there is very little chance of being 'targetted'.

They are total b@stards really aren't they? ...and such as sad way to earn a living.
They are only revenue raising during the summer is peak time for businesses in cooorrrnwaaaallll KEERRRCHING !.
