Having seen the thread about Steve Green and followed a link from the 6 second Outlaw Anglia, I saw that Kev Jenkins has just run a new PB of 7.6 at 175 mph....which for a 4 cylinder Mk1 Escort is Very impressive!
He has been racing for many years and I remember him from the mid 1980's in the Rover V8 Championship when he was running in the 11's, then 10's and then 9's.

I think he also used to run a mk1 Escort with a V6 Essex in Junior Street Racer too…?

At a later meet Kev ran a 7.62 and a 7.63 /180 mph.......They were good Top Fuel times when I started watching at the Pod!

Kev is continuing to run faster with his new P.B. of 7.28 at 188mph. Yes they are trying to get in the 6's next year with their turbo C20LET powered Ford Escort. The calculated power is around 1150HP.
