Can E8x owners play too, considering underneath they are mostly the same car?

If so E82 125i on 160k, just flown through it's MOT again with a single advisory - one of my indicators isn't quite orange. It also still pulls like a train.

We ran lots at work way beyond 200k some were approaching 300k before disposal though they were mainly X5’s


Some would appear to still be on the road but oddly not with that amount of mileage showing!

my 335i is just run in at 160k, running sweet as anything, a little bit of rust in the wheel arches that will be sorted in the spring

E90s are actually solid cars, had two friends run their 320d to 200k plus with no major issues and only usual wear and tear parts needing replacing.

Someone in the US ran an M52TU engined E46 328i to over 600k miles. They discovered that the odometer stops counting at around 622,276 miles so it's unknown how many miles the car has actually done! The mileage corresponds to 999,999km and the ECU stores distances internally in km and converts them to miles if the display is set to miles.

So those of us who feel like we have high mileage cars at ~200k have a long way to go before setting any records biggrin

I just found a recent thread, it's actually a 323Ci (not a 328i) so still the M52TU, and he is now at 750,000 miles redface

Interesting that at such intergalactic mileage the common problems to look for are the same ones that lower mileage cars suffer from: failing water pumps and CCV valves. Still very impressive being that both are ancillary components that are cheap and easy to change (on the M52TU/M54 at least - water pumps on later engines are much more expensive and time consuming to change).

Morning.
This is my kind of thread...

I have a 2005 E90 330i manual with the N52.
This week, it's mostly on ~231k miles.....
Still goes well and feels tight~ish after the MOT man insisted I change the rear tension arms.

It's worth buttons so will be run into the ground and then become a parts car for my E91 330i manual...

235k and counting on my 2010 E91 330d manual.
Owned since 56k miles, it's had a thermostat, oil filter housing, glow plugs and controller, both rear wheel bearings and one rear upper suspension arm in that time. The (original) battery is just starting to reach the end of its life so that'll get changed next week.
Other than the above it's been just oil, tyres, brake pads/discs and filters to keep it running; it still feels surprisingly tight, goes well and averages 43mpg.

165,000 on my 2006 E92 330d manual. Still going strong and returns 40mpg day to day, 50 on a run. Great car which I’ve owned it 5 years!

Only just cracked 150k on the E91 330i

(Did 215k on the E36 328i before various non engine related issued killed...engine was spot on).

It's no longer mine, but I've kept an eye on my old 2005 E91 320d. I had it from new and ran it to around 115k in just over 4 years.

I thought it had died last year, only to see it get a fresh MOT in Sept 21

294,435 miles

Have many happy memories of that car so great to see it still going strong - was the first of 6 BMWs I had..

Fingers crossed that RF55 HWJ makes it past 300k!

My E90 has 150k miles and runs like it is new. The key as noted is regular oil changes including the filter to keep things inside the engine healthy and gunk free. Be sure to use a Euro L oil and / or one BMW has certified even if well out of warranty. Walmart has oild cheap if needed that will work (Penzoil Euro L). Also use a good if not proper filter (Mann brand is OEM). Change all o rings too. I change mine every 3-5k miles on the outside even though the dealer or others recommend going much longer. If you can't afford the oil changes you may not be able to afford the car !

If you change the oil (and maintain the vehicle overall as needed) you will get 200-300k miles of enjoyable driving. The ultimate driving experience as they say...

I don't think I am doing this right? But my N53 E92 is at about 88k and 15 years old.

So it should easily last until it becomes a historic vehicle at 40 years old!

I've only had relative youngsters!

I sold my N52 325i Touring on 139K in 2019 and my current N52 330i Saloon hasn't quite got to 120K yet.

Still at least it should have plenty of life left in it. smile
