I've been looking around at 200sx's for a while as a possibility for my next car, but I'm a bit confused about all the different models.
I've worked out it's the S14 I'm after, but I see there's the S14, S14a and Touring models, what's the difference between the three? Are there any other variants on the S14 I should be aware of?
I would ask on sxoc.com but I'm sure someone on here will know and it saves me registereing...

S14a is the facelift version with the arguably more attractive nose, different steering wheel and usually stereo control stalk on the steering column. Touring on the S14 adds leather and 10 CD multi changer, same on the S14a with the addition of side skirts. I am pretty sure this is accurate but there are oddities. There are some other differences but nothing of any importance TBH.

In essence the only real decisions you need to make are which front do you prefer, which determines S14 or S14a then if you want leather with that = touring.

JSF off the board is selling a very nice, sensibly modded S14a for about 5K (you will need to check) which is an absolute bargain

S14 looks like a Skyline, S14a looks like a Pug 406

Tho I have seen a grey s14 with the double 'S' skyline badge on its bonnet in Bristol, fooled me for 0.2 secs Just seemed an odd thing to do.

I dunno why people do that. Or put ferrari badges on mr2s. It's essentially gonna derive the following conversation...
"Wow! you are well hung!"
"Yeah, well..."
"Hang on, that's just a huge rolled up sock."

Anyway if you use the search function on sxoc you'll find every question you could every require a sensible answer to regarding 200s.

I have phrased it this way because I know you'll just asked "well can you find the answer to how many pots of honey it takes to cover a 200sx?"

I like old Rovers with Honda 'type R' graphics & badges all over them.
I like them so much,I just can't look away & I nearly always fall down a man-hole or some thing.

14 = the 1994 (ish) replacement to the original 200sx
14a = from 98-99 to updated styling - just the nose and side skirts
touring = leather & a few more toys

IIRC most ot the tourings were auto...

had one for a short while (14a) - as far as bang for your buck they're pretty much unbeatable.
