I doubt people would buy and ST as a daily driver, but as a relative new 991.2 manual GT3 owner with fixed buckets, I find the ride compliant and seats comfortable, so could use 'mine' as a daily. Maybe the ST will be harder, but I bet it wouldn't bother me and I have had a bad back for over 30 years....

Whilst you CAN use a 991/992 GT3 as a daily, my view is that is a waste and you are better off having another car for this purpose and saving the GT3 for special drives. The ST will be similar.

I assume that the ST will be to 992 what the R was to 991.2 ?
Although obviously when they launched 911 R there was no manual GT3 and no Touring. I assume it’ll be like the 911 R which apparently has a noticeably more road biased chassis than the GT3. So it’s what the 92 GT3 Touring should have been…i.e. a GT3 set up for road more than track with some lightweight panels to make it that bit more special than a GT3.

As it has the normal GT3 nose.. means no single centre rad like the RS… and has traditional 3 rad set up, and you get your frunk and luggage capacity back.
That also eliminates the front active aero… not needed anyway as there is no huge rear wing.

I agree ... if you think about it Porsche have done precisely the same as this with the high cost now of PTS. It's easy then to make a relatively average car a limited number due to its unusual colour and the resistance of the market to re-paint / liquid wrap ...

I have to agree with this. I've come from BMW ///M cars, and it used to frustrate me that almost every 3 months there used to be a new model of some sort, for example for an M4, you could have:M4
M4 Competition
M4 CS
M4 GTS
Then a series of special editions to do with colours, anniversaries or something else, whatever they could do essentially to create more models.
Unfortunately, it seems Porsche is heading down this route also.
