Hi All, I'm in the market for a used 10th Gen Civic from 2018 onwards, ideally 2020.

It must be diesel due to the amount of miles I cover.

Ive just sold a 68 plate Volvo XC60 due to it reaching 118k miles, and starting to cost me serious moneynon repairs, and that's not to mention the £1100.00 per month I was spending on diesel, therefore I really need to make sure I make the right choice this time around.

Ive had two Civics, the most recent a 2015 Tourer DTEC that I was getting 82mpg out of around the M25.

Therefore I'm looking for a DTEC on a 2020 Plate.

However, problem is I want to avoid DPF problems and understand there have been people reporting isies with the DPF on the DTEC?

I've also now enquired about two 20 plates at main dealers and they are waiting for Soot sensors to be replaced but not expecting in until May!!

Therefore I'm starting to wonder if the idea if getting another Civic might be a big mistake waiting to happen?

Also I understand they have air conditioning condenser issues?

I've test drove one in a main Honda dealership that had the air conditioning not working and also when I came back from the 45min test drive lit up like a Christmas Tree on the dashboard with loads of error lights.....

Are Civics now a problem best to be avoided?

I really don't want to jump out if the chip pan with the XC60 and into a frying pan with the Civic.....

Given that sort of mileage, a comfy mileage muncher like a vw passat would better suit

A Honda would be infinitely more reliable than a VW, not really in the same league as far as build quality is concerned.
I thought that the 1.6 diesel in the 10th gen was the same as the 9th gen which was bullet proof.
