Ferrari investment

Hi Guys, hoping to get some advice here... im looking to buy a ferrari as an investment. really want a model thats bottomed out and starting to go up in value. i have around 80k to spend. any advice would be much appreciated.

Six years too late probably. I sold a manual 430 for under £100k in 2016.

Maybe a nice early carb 308 but proper upkeep will cost you a similar amount to any potential uplift.

The problem with 360's, 430's etc is that there are literally thousands of them around. I bought my first 360 for £85k 23 years ago. They have fluctuated between £45k and £85k for the past two decades but in that time maintenance would have cost tens of thousands. Could be wrong but I don't think I've ever seen a standard 360 change hands anywhere near £100k.

Eighty grand won't work - it'll buy you a lovely Ferrari - maybe even one you like - but as a random purchase that has to go up: no chance

As with 550's parts are becoming scarce for 355's, running costs seem to have increased sharply to keep one tip-top in recent years but non availability of parts is becoming a problem.

I've personally never liked the F1. Unlike the 360 the software can't be updated and it is quite clunky. For less money a nice 430 would probably be a safer bet in terms of maintenance cost.

Never own anything that eats while you sleep if you want to make money.

The running costs and upkeep etc of a Ferrari will be in investment for the person that looks after it for you I suspect.

As to making money on the car - that is a pure gamble and not an investment.

Get one you can enjoy - I’d get a California 30 - cheap these days, great n/a v8 soundtrack and lovely summer car. Look after it and yuu may get your money back but I think the investment side of cars at that budget has gone.
