Lancia Fulvia 1.6 HF

Well, I wonder if anyone is interested in this.
By way of a back-story, I had many Fulvias since the age of 19, and often more than one, for about 18 years. Both 1.3 and 1.6 models, all series 2.
Did lots of stuff with them, including racing a 1.6 for five or six seasons, took the same car to the Nurburgring (it was road legal/road driven) did lots of work to them over the years and more than one restoration etc. Of all the cars I've owned, I've had the most fun in Fulvias.
Then, a break of about 15 years....until now.
Spotted this, and bought it. It is in the US so will probably be a couple of months before it arrives here. The car looks generally good to me but I've not seen it in person so evidently there is a risk there and I'm hoping it won't end up being a complete rebuild.....the list of jobs is already starting!
For those who may not know, it is a Series 1 Fulvia 1.6 HF, the "Fanalone" model. It was effectively the homologation special and that car won many many rallies including the 1972 world championship (or whatever the precise title was).
They made about 1250 of them, many were crashed/rallied/broken for spares and perhaps half of them remain. Of that number, a lot are either used in classic rallying or have been made into "rally replicas", which I didn't really want.
The car comes without much history at all, save it was sold in the Netherlands to the US about ten years ago so that is a gap to fill. If there is interest, I'm happy to post updates as they happen.

That looks just brilliant!!
And having just woke, I went on Autotrader to start my daily musings of cars I want to buy and the first I happened to look at was the only Fulvia on there.
Granted, I went on there looking at Deltas, but this to me feels too much like a sign having never clicked on one before. So once I gather together the money I don't have, I shall be joining you!

Thanks for all the comments. I'm definitely looking forward to the day it lands. Personally I like the colour, mainly because the thought the engineers were in charge of this project and when finished someone asked about colours and they said it doesn't make it go any better so leave it in primer. Of course, that is a thought that is only in my head :-). It isn't an original colour, I think the original colour was metallic silver.

A photo of the engine bay in case anyone wanted to see it. 13 degree V4 canted over at 45 degrees. Twin cams, a pair of twin choke 42mm Solex carbs and a five speed dog leg gearbox.
The quality of castings on a Fulvia are way better than a mid-70's Ferrari in my view. Even though these were very expensive cars when new, Lancia didn't make any profit.....
