manual vs f1 & miles

morning, would anyone care to offer some thoughts on this? what do we think that the premium would be in approximate % terms for a manual car over an F1 355?

also what sort of premium would you expect to pay for a mid 20,000 mile car vs a mid 30,000 mile car?

thoughts /advice appreciated

Fashions change. There was a time when F1 commanded a premium over manual. That may happen again as today's generation of boy racers only knows paddles shifts and the F355 may be seen as the iconic pioneer of robotised manual boxes (it was the first). Also, rarity plays a part as only 23% of F355s made have an F1 box. So don't assume that the manual premium will remain positive...

As for mileage, they've all been clocked (tongue in cheek) so buy on condition, not mileage, especially now that they're around quarter of a century old.
For example, you'd pay more for a 30k mile car in good fettle than a 20k mile car which needs work.

yep agree with all of that, but currently manuals demand a premium over F1 - how much do we think it is?

assume the cars are the same condition, what would be the premium for 25k vs 35k?

Can't give you a manual vs F1 pointer but my personal observation on mileage with more modern metal (it's been a while since I sold the F355) is that every 10k km difference in mileage is worth a €10k difference in price so you may find a similar yardstick working in £ and miles although the ratios are slightly different but so is the market - so try a £10-15k difference between your hypothetical cars for size and see how that fits.

Cheers, I thought the manual would command a 10-15% premium and the mileage difference about 5%

They are two real cars one just sold on collecting cars…. Black f1 car and other is on the thevph classifieds

I roughly calculated a few years ago that all else being equal, for a UK RHD manual +1000 miles equated to about -£1000 in value. That may be totally wrong mind. Mine just clocked 39,000 last weekend but I’ve decided I’m not bothered about adding mileage as I know the car is in fantastic condition and will remain that way regardless.

That's a very interesting point. Lots of the younger generation are taking automatic only driving tests, as the future is EV and they're easier to pass, so in 30-40 years driving a manual will be the preserve of the few. And F1's will be the popular choice.
