G'Day!

I've had my Ranger Raptor for a couple of weeks now and have to say that for Australia, it's probably the best all-rounder available.

Remember that our version gets 100HP more than the UK/Euro version thanks to your emissions controls frown With 100HP missing, I'm not sure it would do such a good job of ticking all the boxes.

It's very capable off road, particularly on long fast gravel roads (like you don't have in the UK), has lots of power for blasting around on big soft sand dunes (like you dont have in the UK), isn't too big for Australian car parks (but probably too big for your local Tesco Express) and makes a brilliant noise, particularly with the exhaust set to Baja mode (probably doesn't sound as good minus 100HP)

Petrol consumption around town is averaging 18 litres/100km (13MPG) and whilst blasting around some dunes for an afternoon I achieved 65 litres/100km (3.6MPG). Not too much of a problem here when 98RON Unleaded costs the equivalent of GBP1.03 per litre.

Whilst the car is very popular here, I'm not sure it'll be a great success back there in the UK.

The commodore probably weighs a bit less.

Plus mine is suffering with new-vehicle right foot syndrome wink I'm expecting fuel consumption to get better in a few weeks.

Cool truck. Surprised with the fuel economy, would be expecting it to comfortably better my 20 year old 8.3l (500bhp) Ram. Lowest I've ever managed to get that to is I think 4.6mpg absolutely hooning and typically is doing 11-13 round town and 15-20 on trips.
