I'm currently in the process of buying a combo van from a dealership in Bristol. They have added an extended warranty to the package of which i don't want. Yew I've told them this, they say they made it perfectly clear it the cost of the van plus the warranty.

The vehicle is of vauxhall make and only 2 ish years old. Which means there is still a manufacturs warranty still in place on the vehicle.
Speaking with the dealership they have stated that the warranty they are selling me (which is a RAC warranty) won't start until the manufacturer's warranty has ended.

Is this the case I cannot find it anywhere in the terms and conditions?

I'm happy to buy it then send it all the a consumer watch dog at a later date for the fun of it.

My main question is: will the warranty start after the manufacturer's one is done.

Cheers

Insurance type used car warranties usually have a 14 days cooling off period where you can cancel them.

Marshalls did similar to my Dad, pretty much insisting he took the extended warranty. (they'd priced the car too low, realised this when we were there buying it)

We just cancelled it when we got home.

Thanks Trevor. I'm literally on my way to pick it up now. Didn't think of a cooling off period.
