Word is car will be unveiled at the end of the year, with deliveries starting mid next year.

The rear doesn't look great to me.

600hp for the Turbo model will be good though.

Cancelled my deposit. Based upon Taycan they will fall in value like a stone. Taycan’s have had too many issues as well. Not a great looker either

Tax advantages if any will play a role , Brand power will pay a part , I wager will be better then most EV out there ie hatch back group and mini SUV , Will do great if interior is luxurious as opposed to Taycans ie material and seats etc . And final but most relevant how will it be priced .I am confident most Porsche owners are both the comfortable in life and teh aspirational in life ==both will not be spending silly money . Obviously there are exceptions

Have had a deposit on one of these for near 2 years. Seeing the photos of the daft looking cut away rear and potentially no towbar option leaves me totally cold. It seems to be a “lifestyle” type of thing rather than a particularly useful family car. The cut away rear loses valuable boot/interior space. Missed opportunity by Porsche. And that’s all before I think about the residuals…. Surely these potentially can’t be as disastrous as the Taycan?

How much do we think it will cost.
60, 70, 80 before options. I think it needs to start with a 5 for it to be a success. After all you’ll need to add 15k worth of options to get what comes standard in its rivals.

I’d say there’s not a chance it will start with a 5! Reckon the 600 BHP one will probs start with an 8 and that’s before the inevitable goodies being added (so basically a £90K car potentially)

I'd say 120k for well optioned car. Porsche aren't been shy with their pricing atm.

Had a "deposit" for 2 years and waiting, but if there is no tow bar option I am out and will look at Q4 Etron or BMW IX2 coupe (out later next year). Both offer a tow bar option.

Slightly worried on pricing and residuals given the issue with Taycan.

I’m not sure why anyone would want one of these over a Taycan estate, especially if there are loads of 2nd hand bargains. I suppose some people are of the mindset that they need a brand new car every 2-3 years.

Not impressed at least the Taycan went for a dramatic styling change for the first EV Porsche. This doesn't have anything standout?

And this is why Porsche have decided to run them alongside the current ICE lineup, so you can still have you're entry level Macan for £53k (which until inflation started with a 4) and the EV one starts with a 7. At one point it was going to be ICE out EV in then everyone would have been up in arms at the £20k price jump.

Looks like they have gone down the road of the Cayenne Coupe, which I never understand, why would you want something this big and not have the practicality.

Tax advantages at start...then all lost at the sale...

hugely expensive, electric costs up, no WDA for second hand so useless for business owners to consider, VAT due back on sale, depreciation stratospheric, no infrastructure, range anxiety and will be outdated sooner than a Betamax cassette.

This was as blindingly obvious back then as it is now.

No one, and I mean no one wants second-hand EV...unless a little urban runaround as a private purchase.

Nowhere near enough lithium being mined to cater for EV production, and the replacement batteries needed in 10 years.

Electric is dead.

You better ring up all the manufacturers and let them know. I can’t believe they didn’t spot this massive error.

Agreed well said , Alas the Ministry of Peace Truth Love and Plenty will have lots to say about ICE . -I still like Mad Max movie ( Mel Gibson version ) . Guess have to wait until next year to see what the general election thought process is

To my eyes it looks a lot better than a Taycan and might even have some space in it. It will no doubt be very expensive for what it is and will depreciate like a rock so would I buy one… I think no. But let’s see when it’s actually launched with all the details.

It is several years from being mined but it seems there’s a potential huge Lithium discovery in the US.

They didn't watch Panorama?

All the dealerships we visited recently, including Porsche, tell us EVs won't work.

Zero petrol, hydrogen, ammonia... lots of better ways than electricity, all zero CO2 emissions.

Macan EV delayed...
