I quite fancy a Nukeproof Scout 275 hardtail as winter hack while my Orange Alpine full susser is in its winter hibernation.

CR seems to have some cracking 'Black Friday' discounts on them at the moment - are they kosher and would it be a risk to go ahead gven their apparently perilous state?

TIA

A colleague ordered a Nukeproof from CRC on Monday, it was despatched yesterday and is due for delivery tomorrow. Maybe order on a credit card for a bit of peace of mind? That said, I got a chargeback no bother on my debit card when Evans didn't deliver me a bike a couple of years back.

I ordered a Nukeproof Reactor 290 frame from Wiggle on Sunday, arrived yesterday and they'd sent a bare warranty frame with no rear shock, headset, seat collar or even a rear axle!

They're now being awkward pricks so I'm being equally awkward back, currently sat waiting for an e-mail from them but they're slow AF to respond and good luck getting to actually speak to someone.

That said, a hardtail frame is hard for them to get wrong so I'd just order it if i were you.

It's a while ago but I've had a bike from them and they were great. I'd happily order another bike from them.

Edit : just seen the post below this, what a shame.

Surprisingly, CRC/Wiggle seem to be working as normal.

I returned a product to CRC/Wiggle immediately before the news about their insolvency broke. However, they processed the return as normal, and I received the refund today. It suggests they want to remain a going concern.

Over to Mike Ashley, perhaps …

They have some good prices at the moment. I had been online perving at a bike for a week or two, saw on Tuesday they had it for 40% off. I have ordered it but made sure I used a credit card as should give some extra protection. Will report back!

I hope Wiggle get through this as they're one of a few decent online retailers who managed to overcome post Brexit customs BS quickly, and deliver to continental Europe without me - and I suspect many others - being impacted with additional Customs handling and VAT charges.

I'm looking at carbon wheels in their Black Friday offers ....... whistle

I think people need to be careful, if they are not paying suppliers they will not be getting stock in so it could reach the point were orders are not delivered.

There doesn't appear to be any cause for concern provided you pay on a credit card.

A further insight but this time for Wiggle.

I placed an order at 9pm last night for a wheelset that had been significantly reduced in price only yesterday (I have been watching the item for some time). I did pay for the item via credit card

Just had confirmation of dispatch with a Parcel Force tracking number. The only slight disappointment is that whilst I have next day delivery on my account, delivery is showing for Monday…I guess this maybe because it’s a large item which requires Parcel Force and they don’t deliver on a Saturday? Anyway, I expect to see my wheels turn up on Monday.

Yeah that's always been the case with Wiggle, big stuff you can get charged extra for and it takes longer. I ordered a replacement frame from them last night to replace the one they fked up and sent me a warranty frame instead and just got confirmation that it's shipped and due Tuesday.

GCN reported Wiggle being in administration, interest from Frasers, etc., and it read as if they're doomed.

Wiggle are still marketing, still taking orders (emails received over the weekend) and delivering.

I've been a happy Wiggle customer for a few years, and it would really be a shame if they went under. They've been great for EU deliveries post-Brexit (customs handling, no extra fees, etc.), where other vendors didn't bother to make changes, so lost business, and I'd keep using Wiggle.

I'm sat on the fence with this one, I've been planning to buy a Nukeproof for a while, but I can't spend £7k on an e-bike whilst this is going on. All brands suffer from the odd frame crack, but I don't fancy being the guy who bought an expensive bike days before they went bust and the warranty goes with it.

What Nukeproof are you looking at exactly?

I've just ordered a Reactor 290 frame off them as it was too cheap not to. I think if the price is right it's worth the risk but sounds to me like what you're looking at is basically retail, that to me seems like a risk not worth taking especially with all the other options available at that price point.
