Car is an 04 WRX Impreza.

I've refreshed the suspension and the front lower arms, and I'm now moving on to the lateral links at the rear.

I really want to change the links themselves for OEM with new OEM bushes, as I'll be dropping the subframe at the same time.Of course this also means tackling that dreaded long bolt that runs through the Hub, but I've got a plan for that.,

ICP list lateral arms with bushes for MY 92-00, but nowhere lists newage (02-07) onwards. However ,part numbers match up to the old ones, but I've been informed that the older link arms are shorter. I can get bushes and bolts, but not lateral arms with bushes and bolts.

I don't want to go down the road of performance parts as the car is old now, and it doesn't get tracked, abused or driven hard. I'm also at the stage whereby I've managed to get free storage for it so I'll be keeping it and getting something else in the near future, with a view to having this and the Lancer Turbo as weekend cars.

Not yet, although the nearest one is a fair chunk of distance away. That was my next port of call actually, having not had much luck recently.

I use https://www.simpsons-cars.com/

Admittedly not near but they will post/deliver. Anything they don't carry they can get from Japan - at a cost though obviously. Stuff that they carry is usually competitively priced.

Do you actually need new arms or can you get them blasted/painted and rebushed?

Thanks for the link, I'll give them a call tomorrow.

I'd prefer new arms, as I will also be dropping the subframe and cleaning that up, rebushing the mounts and rather than go through the faff of removal and getting the links blasted etc, I'll go for the easy option, unless the price is prohibitively expensive. They've been on the car 20 years almost, so I don't think new ones will hurt. I'll also do what I did with the calipers, which is refresh the old ones at my leisure as I'm sure one day they'll come in handy, if not to me then maybe someone else.

If it transpires that they're bloody expensive, then the next option is to find a breaker and grab some S/H ones, refurbish them and then fit them when I drop the subframe etc. My reason being is that I don't really want the car off the road too long, so hopefully this will be done over a weekend.

I do, however, have to tackle the long hub bolts. Wish me luck.
