Bobberoo and I are meeting for a romantic dinner* during the Christmas break and would appreciate any recommendations for a decent pub somewhere along the A27 at or between Chi and Havant. Any glowing recommendations before I trawl Tripadvisor..?

Horse and Groom West Ashling, very nice food and Michelin recommended too.

I thought the SB was close to shutting down?

It went totally downhill a few years ago with new owners who significantly reduce the range of sausages on the menu,
