420r rear wings respray
Discussion
Hi folks, I'd like your opinion on this.
My guy who does spraying say that it would be more cost affective to buy new wings at £185 each and spray them than do mine up.
He says the problem is the fibreglass is so thin that the 'stars' that have been created from stones chipping from underneath means that they will have to be drilled out and re fibre glassed.
There's 13 of them, plus the small cracks that have been made when the wing protectors were pop riveted on by the factory.
Would you think that this is a fare comment and has anyone had there's resprayed?
Thanks, SB.

Depends on the amount of damage, but yes the labour to fix fibreglass adds up. I'd ask for two quotes so for can compare.
For me I prefer to reuse rather than get new and have to move the old ones on or dump them.
I've mended loads of race car fibreglass over the years so I've often done the fibreglass repair myself before the painter paints.
