1st version is out: www.le-mans-guide.co.uk. If you put in Le Mans Guide in Google it will come up first.

Still has a few glitches but I'm sorting thro' them.

Hope this gives a flavour of what went on in 2023 and gives everyone a look forward to 2024. ...that is IF YOU CAN GET A TICKET AND A CAMPING SPACE!!

You might not know how many off site events go on in Race Week so have a look here www.le-mans-guide.co.uk/map-menu and scroll down to 3rd map - Race week off site activities - it might be of interest if you are an early arriving le Maner.

Very Best Regards

First map - circuit with entrances crossings etc could do with an update as Porsche footbridge not on nor Karting entrance (been there a few years) - especially as more camping down that way.

Text still features GTEAm in a few places - GT3 from 9 manufacturers etc plus new LMDh/Hypercar manufacturers for season?

I dont think the classes racing is really all that relevant for a guide but the other info for sure might be

RL thanks for that I'll sort it....my main problem is that ACO don't really make firm announcements until Mayish. They still don't know what entrances they want!!!

Very grateful for your feedback as I haven't camped over that side for 12 ish years.

My biggest plea to the ACO is would they think about the "normal" fans and not just the "Corporate just there for 3 hours mob".

Lots of good stuff in the guide

We've camped deep inside BSJ just before Porsche Curves last 4 times and for a couple of Classics.

[Looking at the Where to Watch 'Route to Arnage Corner.... plan]
Porsche Curves viewing bank inside of circuit is best accessed by path (with entry control) that runs down the right hand (east) side of the allotments by the line of trees from near the bridge under the circuit on D92. This emerges into top right corner of camper van BSJ field about 200-250m from Porsche curves bank - toilets there, plus a food and beer stall atop the banking. Good view over fencing for entry into first part of Porsche curves and also exit of first curve. No longer had a TV screen opposite in 2023 though. [will send a pic when back on phone]

[The track next to it in the line of trees running north south is now closed (did have some cars doing odd stuff a few years back which upset farmer and ACO negotiations for access across track went bad].

The path across the farmers track (line of trees) in middle of BSJ is also closed meaning that from within the main part of BSJ you have to go to southern end of site and then back up through the woods campsite area to access the Porsche Curves inside banking.

Karting gate [just to right of blue 'Karting' script on your Route to Arnage plan] is pretty permanent - access there and a bus/little train stop and also has a offroad permenent fenced queue lane that starts at BSJ so its sometimes quicker to walk up path by road to next roundabout for Porte CIK/Technopark. Once inside access to rest of track or return via Karting can also be delayed up as can get held up for 10-15 minutes or so when support races enter/exit the track.

The route to Arnage was changed in 2023 as the left turn by the industrial estate just before Arnage village was closed to private cars last year - still bike access I thought and buses.

Excellent stuff RL. Many Thanks
I'll incorporate it in my next version. Didn't realised they had closed the Arrange corner route to vehicle. So all the way to Arrange then down to Monce en Belin and up to the Corner or all the way round the top then thro' Ruaudin and Mulsanne? No one way system? Seems a right dog's breakfast!

Quite the contrary. The signage was superb. I drove that way twice during practice/qually on Wednesday and Thursday evening and there was virtually no traffic. I can't describe the exact route as I hadn't done it that way before but it allowed me to pass traffic at a standstill at the roundabout in Arnage and skate through.

Great Dane It will be my privilege to add your brilliant guide.

Still a long way to go til June. We know the info we all need will be slowly trickled out, but somehow, despite all the corporate BS it all seems to work out in time for the Race.

I think 2024 is going to be a great racing Le Mans. However, I still dream of a Panoz roaring round the circuit!!!

Thanks GD, very much appreciate what you are adding to my Guide.

Can someone recommend a good pocket radio please - good as in long battery life from a set or two of double AAs or a single recharge and that has decent reception and can go loud enough to hear over the race.

I've used full headphones radio for years now. I've had these for 5years - they're very good. I think I've only changed the batteries a couple of times over those years. They're currently on offer.

I was thinking more something like this as it's a bit easier to carry around and more comfortable for a long number of hours but I guess you lose the noise cancelling effect of the big cans
