Having seen others on here being burned by mega cheap cayennes and needing a second car for the next few months. I did what any sensible person would have done and bought 5ks worth of Cayenne turbo over the internet

Delivered yesterday and the initial impressions are mixed

It’s a rocket ship for something so big
The 22” wheels need changed asap as the ride is horrible and they are the wrong offset
It has an aftermarket stereo that drains the battery
The central locking only works with the key
Apart from those small issues so far it’s great
Some research to do and jobs to get done over the next few days

Wow! I'm assuming they've a reputation for being a car-shaped grenade?

Refreshing headlights always takes years off a car.

Yeah they do just a little lol. But if a big bill once every now and then doesn’t scare too much and you can work on them yourself they don’t have to be too bad

Great choice!

I had the regular 3.2 model of this shape and owned it for more than 5 years. Absolutely LOVED it, my favourite car purchase ever.

Same colour as yours too!

Hope your experience is as positive as mine was smile

We will see if it is and I hope in the end it will be. For 24 hours the car was faultless but now it’s developed a coolant leak. Seems to drop about 2litres and then stop. So I’m assuming it the expansion tank. Need to see in the day light

Can anyone recommend a Porsche specialist in Aberdeen? My coolant leak seems like it could be the heat exchanger or the coolant pipes

Well that didn’t take long to answer your thread title! Hope it’s not too expensive and you get a good ownership experience.

At least it’s not a post March 2006 car where tax is now almost £700 per year.

Nope only 72 hrs and that’s a record for me!
It is what it is, no major damage done and it’s fixable so she will be back on the road in January

I want to get a full gearbox service, brake service and engine service anyway so this is just an extra job tacked on

I’m told if the inlet manifold is off to get the thermostat, starter and water pump done at the same time?

Graham from Autolounge in Stonehaven has opened a workshop and it’s a Porsche tech that’s working for him, might be worth a try

My 997 is in winter storage there and he will be doing some maintenance on it before it gets back out in spring

Thank you, as a daily it will be epic, once we get these few jobs out the way and get it back on decent sized wheels as the 22’s are awful even on comfort mode lol

Well the good news is that she lives. Coolant hose needed replacing, new starter relay and needs full service and new rear brakes.

Massively impressed so far with Graeme and the team at Autolounge in Aberdeenshire cannot recommend highly enough!

I had one years ago....Owned for a few months, the engine went bang and that was the end of that.

Aside from that it was a stupendously quick and agile for it's size.

Well fit anyone who been waiting with bated breath. The big expensive bus of doom is back on the road.

Busy coolant hose, gearbox, transfer box, diffs and engine serviced and back brakes all replaced and she is back in fine working order

May even treat here to a set of wheels to celebrate
