Macan rear view mirror

Anyone know how to refit the rear view mirror on a Gen1 Macan? Mine popped off when a bird hit the top of the windscreen. The mirror unit is undamaged but it doesn't want to go back firmly into the housing. Any help much appreciated.

Pleased to say the Macan was completely unharmed otherwise. The pheasant wasn't.

The mirror assembly has a clasp which grips onto a boss on the windscreen. To reattach, all the plastic cowling has to be taken off and it's a quarter turn action to get it on.

In some cases, the boss itself comes off with the mirror assembly and Porsche and those people who employ Gavin will state it's a new windscreen. In that case, you just need to know someone...

Yes, that's the clasp and the boss it attaches to. There are different types of mirror (and cowling) and in some cases, the mirror boss comes off with the mirror.
