I'm hopefully picking up a NC3.75 in the next week or two and would love to see what exhausts people are running. Long term I'll likely go down the BBR200 route, but will likely start of just with a back box while I save my pennies. I don't want anything too loud and like the look of the Cobalt backbox. Anyone got any pics?

IL Motorsport on mine

I started with a Racing Beat but it seemed to make very little difference so sold it.

The IL one is ok, I’d be interested to hear a Cobalt to see if the sound is a bit more interesting

If you go the naturally aspirated route their GT backbox might be a bit easier to live with - the Sports is quite noisy (IMO, though with a turbo it is okay).

Thanks all! I'll be tempted to get a Cobalt back box to start with, and then a full BBR system including manifold later down the line.

I've been told that as my car has the 'appearance' rear valance, I might need something with adjustable tips otherwise they can look a bit lost, which is helpful to know.

Mine (NC 3.5) has an IL motorsport and i'm very pleased with it; not too loud, nice burble and "slash-cut" pipes following the lines of the bumper nicely.i

I can add my own now biggrin

Apparently this is an 'appearance' rear diffuser so will need adjustable tips, otherwise they'll get lost. Which probably limits me to a Cobra or BBR system, or something custom made.

Love how low that is! Does it catch on speed bumps etc?

Thanks! And oh yes on sleeping policemen... I only bought it a few weeks ago, the owner seemed to think it was totally standard but it must have had different springs fitted by the first owner. I'm planning to fit coilovers at some point and will raise the ride height slightly.

Mk3.5 2.0 Sport Tech. It has an (I think) Eight Nine catback exhaust which although loud and meaty resonates terribly. At certain RPMs it makes the entire rear deck resonate with the roof up and I often find myself trying to find a throttle position that doesn't make my eyes cross over on long journeys. I'm used to loud having owned things like a TVR and factory JCW MINI, it's just the wrong sort of loud if you know what I mean. Great car though.

My wife's 1.8 3.0 with a Malian back box. Adjustable tips on this.

Lovely burble and crackle, coupled with a manifold back straight pipe, which does away with one cat and silencer box. Still 'just' passes the emissions test as long as it's properly warmed up first.

Apologies for the poor pic!
