Does anyone know anything about this one ?
I absolutely love the colour, but have never seen another one in Lime green.
Looks to have been tested by CAR magazine.

Probably re-painted re-sale red when these things weren't as historically significant.

Would definitely have remembered it in that colour if i'd seen it ,love the colour on a Miura,

bearing in mind how old the magazine is it wouldn't surprise me if someone has by now painted it red

when prices went crazy either in the very late 80's or more recently in the last 10 years or so.

Seen a Giallo Fly yellow one at Henden Way Motors some years ago and a guy in the F.O.C has owned a

Viola Metalizzato Daytona for many years ,often see him at the VSCC and Ferrari club meetings ,

I didn't go so can't tell you but i wouldn't thought there will be two in that colour in the UK,

The Guy 's name who owns it is Bertie Gilart-Smith he owned it quite a few years ,last saw it in the pits

at Goodwood, looking a little travel stained which made a nice change from the usual trailer queens.

Tom Hartley ( Jnr ) and a American lady living in the Oxford area both have Dino Syder's in the same colour,

also Peter Noone the lead singer from Hermans Hermits if anyone remembers them had a Dino GT coupe

in Viola ,

The Daytona is featured in the January 2018 edition of Octane if anyone has one hanging about.

There's photo's and a video on the "Why so little on the Dino " thread with a coupe and gts in this colour ,

Probably all the better for not being as bright as the Miura green but still looks totally outrageous ,those vivid colours really suit the Dino.

Did read or could have been on a video about the restoration of this car, that's were i learnt that Peter Moone's Dino was Viola.

I thought it said that it was the factory colour but memory not so good as it was.

Any idea what was the original colour.

It was originally silver (Argento Auteuil). From the auction description: "Noone wanted to be in vogue and have the same colour as Clapton’s Dino. Having only been able to purchase a silver car, he immediately commissioned it to be repainted in the striking Viola Dino Metallizzato and it has remained this colour ever since. Noone owned the car until 1983."

The article shows the Daytona as red, then for some reason they have photos of it in lime green. I think they were a forerunner to photoshop. See the page you posted - top left photo is the same car in its actual colour, red.

That is interesting ,not one for the matching numbers purest brigade then, love both colours on a Dino and a refreshing change from red.

Well spotted Robert, i recently had a clear out of my collection of "Car" magazines dating back to 1968 ,

Thought the article rang a bell but was unable to check, mind you that could have taken forever,

Took two trips with a Transit to hall my eclectic mag collection away. Being a sad old git buying them since the 60's

while still at primary school and my mum said it was just a phase i was going through, rolleyes
