Hello,

I’ve owned company cars for the past 10 years and it seems that I’m out of touch with general car maintenance costs….
Going private this year with a 2018 V60 D4, Volvo has quoted £450 for an interim service and £650 for a major service, seems a bit steep….

What would I be looking to pay at an independent Volvo specialist? Any recommendations for a trusted Bucks based garage ( Amersham/ High Wycombe area).

The car has 74k miles, any major watch out if I take it to a good non Volvo independent ?

Thanks

Ask them about a service plan. Worked out a lot cheaper on my V40 D4.

Thank you!
I did ask here about service plans but didn’t get a response. Looking at google seems to be around £500 for 2 years, sounds right?

Just had a look £1540 for

- 3 MOT
- x 2 major service
- x 1 minor service
- cam belt change

The best thing is it’s interest free. 50% upfront. This is with Marshal Derby.

Quintech Motors. Volvo specialist in Bovingdon. www.quintechmotors.co.uk Very helpfull to me recently in diagnosing a fault with my '09 XC 90. Alec, the owner was for very many years with another Vovo specialist here in Chesham which has now closed down I understand..

Excellent, thank you all.
The place in Bovingdon sounds like a good start as I’m likely to keep the car for one year until things settle down.

This has been my company car for the past 5 years, it has been great so far, can’t really think of anything better in my budget

Horton Cars jut outside Long Crendon are excellent. They have looked after my numerous Volvos over the last 7 years. https://hortoncars.com/

At 74k on the clock it is getting near to a cam belt change I imagine, so try and negotiate this into your plans over the next year or so.

Was hoping it would need replacing at around 100k (will be sold before it gets to it), but, good shout.
Service is now due in the next 3K miles, I’ll ask the garage to take a look
