XF Gearbox Help

Trying to help a friend out. He's having trouble with his XF gearbox. I don't know the exact details. However, can someone recommend a gearbox specialist that could help. In the West Midlands, Coventry area.

Any chance you could get some details? Is it the gearbox itself or the gear selector?

There's a known problem with the electronics on the rotary selector of the XF that causes it to intermittently malfunction. It is caused by a dry solder joint on an SMD resistor on the circuit board and it really is just a case of reflowing the connection with a soldering iron (once you've got the thing out the car that is).

A gearbox specialist won't be able to solve it as the control systems for the ZF HP6 and HP8 are separate from the 'box itself and customisable by each vehicle manufacturer.
