Hi ph

I have a trip to London in march, with one night sorted already in Camden. I fly into Heathrow the day before and have the afternoon to myself, and one night in a hotel yet to book.

Can anyone recommend a hotel near Camden, preferably walking distance, with a decent spa, gym and bar?

I assume I'd need to get a tube from Heathrow? I really do not know London at all so any advice would be appreciated. This will be my first night without the kids in about a year so don't want to waste it!

You realise Camden is a bit grim, right?

If I were you I would get the Elizabeth Line to Liverpool Street and stay somewhere in the City (most places are walking distance) then you can wander the city, Borough Market, South Bank all the way to Parliament if that's what you fancy. Alternatively you can get to the West End...

Then you can get the tube back to Camden the following day...

I'd probably stay in Kings Cross. Easy and quick tube to Camden, as well as into the city or west end.

In the area itself there's lots to do around the Coal Drops, very easy to get to Upper St in Islington for a billion restaurants and bars.

Depending on your budget I'd prob stay at The Standard. https://www.standardhotels.com/london/properties/l...
