My R line tiguan is 3 years old now and i have built up some good equity in it so considering moving it on.

Never leased a car before as have done PCPs but the deals look a lot better than PCP at the moment if you lease.

Anyone got or know anyone who has got a Cupra Ateca? They look good but are they any good?

The 'SEAT Cupra' forums (https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/) are very active, probably worth asking over there if you need owner reviews etc.

I had a Cupra Formentor 310 on lease for 2.5 years....despite the infotainment (which was never really sorted by various updates and recalls), it was a great bit of kit all in all....Quick, practical and generally quite fun thing to drive.....I believe the ATECA is much the same, but more 'Golf 7.5' than 'Golf 8' in terms of interior/tech...which is probably a good thing in my experience.

In terms of fuel economy....our Formentor (which is smaller and a touch lighter than an Ateca) averaged mid twenties MPG over the 20k miles we did in it (mixed use) and struggled with much more than 35mpg on a steady run...so just bare that in mind if fuel costs are a consideration, as I understand the Ateca will be worse.
