This could be an interesting story if true

Both parties are going to be digging the dirt pre an election. Could turn nasty

Sounds like a big pile of nothing being used to advertise a sleazy book the mail is printing tbh.

No doubt you will start new threads for all the dirt about Labour in your usual way.

That seems to entirely turn on where she was listed on the electoral roll, which is not relevant to the sale of the house.

"The unoffical biography" of a Labour deputy leader who was good enough to go toe-to-toe with Boris Johnson over the dispatch box, written by Conservative Peer Lord Ashcroft, and released 6 months before a general election.

I wonder how impartial that is going to be?!

Are both addresses in the same constituency?

It's not like he's not got form for publishing hatchet jobs about other politicians <cough> Cameron <cough> Carrie Johnson <cough>. Mind you, he does have form for being careful where he pays tax, whilst influencing British politics, so he might have some inside knowledge of how to game the system.

Why would that matter? You aren’t asked what constituency you live in. You’re asked what address you live at.

I'm happy someone is looking into it given the past history of flipping that all colours of politicians engaged in before.

Hopefully its something of nothing.

The desperation is palpable if this is all they can try and smear her on.

Daily Mail and Lord Ashcroft. No bias there, no siree…

I suppose we’d better get used to this. 86 is right when she says is will be a very dirty campaign leading up the GE so I can expect more of this kind of tripe in the coming months.

I don't think it's "Flipping" that she is being accused of. It's taking advantage of the RTB policy.

Is she actually being investigated, or is it just some people are calling for her to be investigated?

Agreed.

Not looking good for her but let's see what any investigation brings.

Surely the bigger issue is exercising her Right to Buy? Doesn't that make a mockery of Labour's stance on social housing and Thatcher's policies?

Someone will be along to say "hate the game, not the player" or something but it's taking the piss a bit, isn't it?

The party's deputy leader and shadow levelling up secretary insisted she was not "ashamed" to have bought her council house at a discounted rate in 2007 under the late former prime minister's right-to-buy scheme - despite wanting to review it if her party gets into power at the next election.
