Need to get our MX5 protected now and wondering if anyone has any good experiences/recommendations please.

Thinking Preserve & Protect in Johnstone. Good/Bad??

Many thanks.

I'm not a fan of the thick spray on stuff, it didn't work on my Defender.

Personally I'd find a dinitrol place and have them put the clear wax on, the black stuff makes a car an utter nightmare to work on and it in my view doesn't work. It also lets water get behind it whereas the clear wax from dinitrol etc are a lot eaiser check and top up and far less of a manky mess when you need to undo/inspect.

I've used protect and preserve. No issues. If I need it done again I would go back but get the clear dinitrol instead of black.

Buy Lanoguard and do it yourself

Did my Volvo a couple of years ago and at almost 28 years old it now looks like this

Used them a few years ago, treated new GR Yaris with clear dinitirol.
Excellent work and would use again.

Thanks all. Car booked in for the 22nd. Will opt for the clear finish.

I'd look elsewhere personally.

Certainly know of a growing number of folk with a poor experience of them, myself included.

You'll get the confident chat of how good a job it'll be, but the end result is far from it. Then when it goes wrong, you'll get the same excuse that everyone seems to get, of an ex member of staff being responsible for the job.

They might be fine for newish cars/off the forecourt, but anything a few years old, is best sent elsewhere.

Good video.

I took my car to a bodyshop around 10 years ago who used waxoyl for the underside, cost me about £80 and I picked it up later that day. Pardon my ignorance, but what's the difference?

hello

I've watched a couple of your other vids, please stop advertising how good the B780 and B781 is, I want to enjoy them in relative peace and quiet wink

I'm over the hill from you in the garnock valley

Another happy Preserve and Protect customer here, I went there in November 2022, pics of my car are on the "Your experiences" thread - [url]https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t=2016145&r=48092238&hm=434213&mid=434213#48092238[url]

I missed yearly checkup in the summer of 2023 (if indeed there was one..) - never stopped raining, and I would need to drive there on a dry day to drive home again the same day. I know I could drop the car off for a few days, but my summer never allowed for that on dry days.

I am noticing a few small spots that are flaking off and showing a bit of rust, but not many and these do show fairly strongly as they are a different colour (I went black underseal)

Fingers crossed for me to give the car a thorough clean underneath and a touch up this year, fingers crossed we get a summer.

You mention you had the seem sealer, he offered it on my car, I said to have a look at the car when he had up on the ramp and do it if he wanted to, he messaged and said he did not do it as it was not necessary.
