Samsung S9 tablet volume issue

I recently got the above and tried listening to music on yesterday and it’s rubbish. Hopefully it’s just user error.

I am playing music from Amazon music, connected to a headphone amp then obviously headphones.

The volume is really low and lacks power, I can turn the amp to full volume and it’s not particularly loud. Using my iPhone instead of the tablet having the amp volume much above half way makes your eardrums vibrate. The iPhone also sounds MUCH better.

So my question is what am I doing wrong, I’ve had a play with the tablet settings but I am no further forward.

Does anyone no how to sort out this problem?

You may get more joy posting in the computers, gadgets and stuff section rather than here.

My S8 doesn't have any volume or distortion issues. You could try factory reset and then test it with no other software installed to make sure its not hardware damage?
