Ripmax Jackal Help

I got my on a Rip Max jackal a few years back and he had great fun learning with it before upgrading to a FTX Carnage.
The last time he used the rip max it died following a trip through a piddle, i now want to get it going again so my younger son can use it to learn on.

Is it worth replacing the standard RX,ESC, Servo with another rip max part:

And the standard 370x motor with the same again:

Which i can't seem to find in stock anywhere.

Or am i better off replacing the RX,ESC,Servo with something better/cheaper along with a better motor?
