just FYI if it's because you've been sacked within the first 2 years of employment, don't even bother wasting money on a solicitor as unless you can prove the law was broken they can do what they like.

Any company can sack you at any time they want. Whether you are before or after the threshold is only relevant for certain claims, and then still you have to claim and go through the process. Have a look at the tribunal service website for stats for average payout and success rates. For some claims no service threshold applies. But still you have to claim whether it's a slam dunk or not.

my point was don't waste a ton of money with employment law solicitors if this happens to you, as they'll gladly take the cash and then weeks and multiple billable hours down the line they'll tell you you don't have a case, which they knew at the start. Yes first hand exp.

I am sorry this happened to you, any half decent lawyer should have noted at the outset that sub 2 years you need discrimination or whistleblowing to generally bring a claim (there are a couple of exceptions of course)

yea they should. Or at least they shouldn't have phrased it as let's just spend a ton of time and effort seeing if you have one of the very few possible angles to challenge them with. That should have taken 2 minutes but actually took hours, which I felt was scamming.
