DJI Mavic - https://www.mpb.com/en-uk/product/dji-mavic-air-2/...

DJI Mini 3 - https://www.dronesdirect.co.uk/p/cp.ma.00000584.01...

For <£400 what would you recommend? Other than size and weight, what would be the difference? I guess the Mavic could fly in slightly windier conditions?

Done a spatial analysis module at Uni and really enjoyed it. Least amount of effort I have probably put into uni work (granted it probably felt like that as I actually enjoyed what I was doing) and the best grades so far.

Think i'd like to do a dissertation on something with drones and GIS. Not nailed it down yet but maybe forestry, re-wilding etc so thats its main (and probably only) use.

Licences and training etc I'd gladly pay for and sit if needed so the under 250g doesn't overly bother me.

Out of those two, what would be the best? Or any other suggestions? Potensic comes up alot on social media and youtube. Budget is absolutely £400 max but as a skint mature student anything around £300 would be fantastic, but if something is a deal breaker, happy to go to £400.

Thanks.

Given the way the CAA are behaving I’d go sub 250g unless you really need a bigger UAV.

Hi Bud,

I can help here, as I run my own commercial drone services business.

We still have a Mavic Air 2 drone in our fleet, but it doesn’t get used much, as if we are not flying our bigger drones under our GVC operational authorisation, then we are flying our DJI mini 3 pros in the sub 250 category.

As far as you application for work on your dissertation re agricultural related work, I don’t think either of those drones will actually help you there.

I am also a lecturer at Pershore college, delivering the Drones and Robotics syllabus for our Sustainable Horticulture Technology (Agritech) Bsc Hons, so can probably give you some guidance on those subjects.

Feel free to ping me via messenger here..

Or visit our Website which has all my contact information on the contact page.

I am currently writing course work around our latest acquisition, which is this big bad boy.
